Forest Tots
Every Thursday during term time, 9.30 – 11.00am.
Ages from 1 year up to school age.
Join our Forest School Leader for a ‘nature play’ session in Wood End’s private Forest School area.
Here at Wood End, we follow the Forest School ethos, which supports play, exploration and supported risk-taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner-inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
We have a private nature-filled woodland area where the children are free to follow and build on their own interests. We have trees for climbing, a mud kitchen, a tool area, rope swings, a sand pit, a hammock, bird boxes, a pond teeming with wildlife and a fire pit.
Our sessions will incorporate various activities, such as: leaf-printing, bug hunts, den-building, wood craft, painting, pond-dipping – and free play in muddy puddles is always available!
Open to all, not just children currently attending Wood End Pre-School.
All sessions are run by our qualified Forest School Leader and Deputy Forest School Leader.
All Forest Tots children must be accompanied by an adult, the parents/carers will responsible for their own children at all times. Maximum of three children per adult.
Come dressed for all weather – we will run sessions throughout the year, offering children the chance to explore the outdoors in all seasons! Welly boots are essential and sun cream in the summer. We go out in all weathers except for high winds and lightning storms.
Every Thursday, 9.30 – 11.00am. Ages 1 year – school age.
NO NEED TO BOOK AHEAD. It is useful for us to know that you are coming, so we can contact you if we unexpectedly have to cancel, but not essential. Just fill in the form below if you want us to keep your contact details on file.
Most parents/carers pay cash on the day, please bring the right amount.
Included in cost:
- Woodland activities and crafts for children
- Refreshments for grown-ups
- Drinks for children, such as hot chocolate in cold weather
- Please bring your own mugs and spoons for the refreshments!
