Squirrels Children’s Centre is led and managed by Wood End Infant and Pre-School in conjunction with Milton Keynes Council. The centre is situated onsite at Wood End in Stantonbury. It reaches out to provide activities and services to children aged 0-5 living within the area of Stantonbury, Great Linford, Redhouse Park, Giffard Park, Blakelands, Willen, Willen Park, Bolbeck Park, Tongwell, Pineham and Oakridge Park.

Currently, the staffing team at Squirrels consists of one Enhanced Practitioner and one Practitioner. Together in conjunction with the school they aim to provide a high quality provision of activities and services as well as advice, support and guidance for families and children.

Partnership working and strong links with the Local Health Visitor Services, Local Midwifery Service, Local Schools & Childcare Providers, Jobcentre Plus, Shelter and Family Information Services. The Centre’s activities and services for families range from Support Groups for Parents to Be, New Parents and Young Parents, to activities like Drop In sessions.
Sessions may include:

• Stay and Play including Story Time
  Physical Development Sessions – Mini Strikers and Toddler Time
  Baby Massage for 0-6 months
  Baby Weighing Clinics
  Child Development Checks
  Getting Ready for Pre-School Sessions, Potty Training, Weaning and Oral Health Sessions
  Safeguarding, Supervised Contact Sessions
  Messy, Crafts and Outdoor Plants
  Ante Natal and Parenting courses

The activities/services take place within the Centre as well as within outreach venues like Great Linford Combined School and Giffard Park Community Centre.
